My DIY World Map

I LOVE traveling and I have wanted to make my own world map for quite a while now. I just thought it would be a great way to add something fun to my walls and have it be one-of-a-kind. I found this awesome post on KoJodesigns. This is just what I needed to get my butt in gear and create some unique and inexpensive art for my walls.

DIY Sunburst Mirror

This was a little project I whipped up right before Christmas {and right before I started my blog} for a do-it-yourself sunburst mirror. I didn't get any "during" shots, but I thought this was a good rough draft. I have all the supplies to make another one {I'm hooked!}. So once I get the time to put another one together I will post a little tutorial on how I made this!

Ahh Ribba Shelves

On the first of the year, my good friend Nichole and I decided it was time to head to Ikea and grab some fun stuff for our casas. She was on a mission to find her desk for her office while I have had my eye on some shelves to hang on my-still-bare walls. I knew I wanted something to hang in my itty-bitty dining room and knew I wanted these. They are pretty low profile, yet make a big impact with a few personal items like pictures and artwork.

With my Charter "bundle" I get cable TV, home phone service, and internet service....

All for a lovely price of at LEAST $160.00 a month. Awesome. 

After about a year of paying the cable bill every month, I got sick of feeling like I was wasting so much money and getting so little. So I started looking into ways I could watch TV.... and not pay for cable. 

I knew there was a way. And then I found it!!

I picked up this large corkboard over at the Salvation Army a while back for $1.99.

Back to the Beginning

In October of 2009, I became a first-time home buyer of this lovely 1978 bi-level split here in Elk River, Minnesota. I can definitely say it was one of the most exciting and scary things I have done in my life, and now it's been more than a year since I became a "homeowner".
